This 1 day course is designed for any person wishing to obtain the nationally recognised License to Perform High Risk Work Class Code WP who has previous experience in operating an EWP.
Limited practical operator training is provided as part of this course. It is mainly "assessment only". Participants attending this course need to have at least 40 hours current EWP operating experience. Participants also need to complete a practical assessment including pre-start procedures, manoeuvring an EWP through an obstacle course, raising boom to full height to a point the assessor selects, slewing and shut down procedures with minimal training.
After successfully completing this course, applicants will be able to:
- Be aware of duty of care requirements, relevant sections of the O.H. & S. Regulations and Australian Standards.
- Safely plan and execute all operations involving the use of an Elevated Work Platform including stability, movement and setting up.
- Select the correct machine for individual jobs
- Be aware of hazards associated with the use of an EWP
- Conduct pre-operational checks
- Use emergency decent equipment provided with the machine.
- Understand the legislation covering the use of an Elevated Work Platform.
- Know and be able to use the correct personal protective equipment required when operating an EWP.
The course comprises a written theory assessment, followed by a practical assessment. Participants need to have a strong command of the English language in order to complete the written assessment for this course.
Note: It is a Worksafe requirement that the written assessment is closed book. Please be confident that the candidate is competent and capable of passing this course in one day. Daysafe Training will not be responsible for students who fail this course.

Upon successful completion, participants are issued with a temporary Notice of Assessment Summary (valid for 60 days), within which time, the License to Perform High Risk Work Class Code WP will be processed by Worksafe.

Duration: 2 Tuesdays a week apart. (Not 2 days in a row)
This 2 day course is designed for any person wishing to obtain the nationally recognised License to Perform High Risk Work Class Code WP and is suitable for participants with little or no previous EWP operating experience.
After successfully completing this course, applicants will be able to:

The course comprises a classroom audio visual training component followed by a written theory assessment (in English). The last part of day one and all of day two will consist of practical operating training. Participants also need to complete a practical assessment including pre-start procedures, manoeuvring an EWP through an obstacle course, raising boom to full height to a point the assessor selects, slewing and shut down procedures.
Participants need a strong command of the English language to successfully complete the written and practical components of this course.
