As of 1st January 2017 Main Roads has adopted the Austroads National Traffic Control at Worksites Training Framework. After this date those seeking accreditation or re-accreditation in TC & BWTM will be required to meet these new requirements which involve two additional units of competency.
NOTE: Participants attending this course must be able to provide proof of previous experience such as a Traffic Controller's Card or Certificate.
A three (3) month grace period, after an accreditation has expired, is the maximum length that is permitted for individuals wanting to attend a refresher course.
People seeking re-accreditation will also need to provide evidence of active engagement in the industry.
Failing either of these, the individual will be required to attend the full course.
Any extraordinary circumstances can be sent into Main Roads for the final decision.
