Daysafe Training - Coronavirus Update
We want to thank you for your patience and cooperation during this very challenging situation and provide you with an update on our response to the COVID-19 health emergency.
Daysafe Training's Leadership Team are closely monitoring the rapidly changing status of the outbreak and its potential adverse impact on not only the Vocational Education & Training sector, but our way of life as a whole.
We would like to assure you that the health and safety of our families, staff, clients, students, visitors and community remains our top priority and we are complying with all local, state and federal government requirements and advice as it comes to hand.
As the number of cases continues to escalate globally, Daysafe Training is taking additional preventive measures including but not limited to:
To prevent potentially infected people attending;
To prevent potential transmission at our centre;
We are kindly asking that everyone please comply with these measures prior to, and whilst attending our facility.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call, email or message us on Facebook. We will be posting updates as the situation continues to unfold.
It is our strong desire to effectively manage risks related to COVID-19 while enabling you and all trainees to continue to access the training services you need to work safely.
Driving Lessons & Truck Driver Training
At Daysafe we are taking strict precautionary measures to ensure we keep ourselves and our cars as sanitary as possible. The health and safety of our students and instructors is our utmost priority in these uncertain times.
We have regularly consulted with the WA Health Department about any educational restrictions which have been implemented and we have received advice today, that we can resume our driving lessons/training in both cars and trucks as normal, until further notice.
As stated above, we are taking strict measures to ensure the risk to students and instructors is mitigated. Vehicles will be disinfected before and after each student, hand sanitiser will be available in all vehicles and all students will be temperature tested prior to beginning.
Obviously, this service is dependent on participants co-operation, so anyone displaying Covid-19 like symptoms or not feeling well for any reason, is obliged to let us know so we can support you in any way we can.
We really do appreciate your co-operation throughout this trying time.
Classroom Based Learning (Now online)
All classroom based face to face learning is now completed online!
Daysafe Training has been working tirelessly with an elearning provider and have implemented an online learning portal for all classroom based training.
Now, instead of students coming to attend a classroom for face to face learning, you can do that component anytime, anywhere on any device with an internet connection.
Students will still be required to attend the training centre for a short practical session and final assessment but it reduces the face to face time to approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on the course. We have also implemented social distancing and sanitary measures to protect us all during the face to face time.
There are three easy steps to enrolling in our courses.
Step 1: Simply enrol through our calendar as normal. This date and time you select, is the practical and final assessment time you will attend the training centre.
Step 2: Students will receive an online learning portal login. They will use it to log on and complete the learning component.
Step 3: Students attend the training centre for the practical and final assessment.
Online Refresher Courses
Daysafe has now introduced online refresher training.
Refresher courses are not the same as completing a Nationally Recognised Course. These refresher courses are designed to update you about changing legislation and/or industry standards and refresh your knowledge about the activities you need to undertake at work.
Students MUST have verifiable evidence of having completed a Nationally Accredited course in the past 5 years to be eligible for refresher training.
You will not receive a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment for these courses. A Certificate of Completion will be issued to prove you have refreshed your existing qualifications.
Note: Whilst a Statement of Attainment does not expire, different worksites have different policies and requirements of what refresher training should be. Students should check if unsure.
Enrolments can only be confirmed during business hours, however, once you have your login you can complete the course at any time on any device with internet connection.
There are four easy steps to enrolling in and completing an online refresher course.
Step 1. Go to ‘Refresher Courses’; register and upload your evidence of existing competency.
Step 2. Choose the course as a ‘Personal Booking’ for yourself…..Or as a ‘Company Booking’ for employees……Then fill out the enrolment form.
Step 3. Pay and get your login.
Step 4. Complete the whole course online and receive your certificate.
Thanks for your patience, and all the best to our community.

Eligible individuals must be:
• Directly employed in the building and construction industry in Western Australia
• Directly employed by residential construction companies or construction companies undertaking relevant projects in Western Australia
• Self-employed and undertaking work which is directly involved in the construction process
Where eligibility of an applicant is in question the Training Fund will seek evidence of eligibility via review of a detailed, recent work history and/or evidence of employment.
Ineligible companies/individuals include:

• Mining, oil, gas and mineral exploration companies
• Companies that manufacture, supply or deliver building products
• Companies that manufacture, supply, deliver or install non-building products after completion of the construction process

Please note that from the 1 January 2015 as per the initiative by the Australian Government Department of Industry, it will be a compulsory legal requirement for all VET students who undertake nationally recognised training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
The USI is a randomly-generated alpha-numeric code allocated at no cost to an individual student who enters the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. Once allocated the USI will stay with the student for life and be used to record any nationally recognised VET training undertaken by the student.
In effect, as of 1 January 2015 RTO’s will not be permitted to issue certificates to students who do not hold a USI.
Therefore, Daysafe Training recommends that all students apply for their USI prior to enrolling in training from 1 January 2015. We can offer assistance in creating your USI during the enrolment process, however this will cause delays.
The process for creating a student USI takes about 5 minutes, and can be done online using this button.
